If you are interested in aircraft engineering and have an affinity for aviation, the Government Flying Service (GFS) Aircraft Technical Officer may be a suitable career for you. As a GFS Aircraft Technical Officer, you will be mainly responsible for carrying out servicing, maintenance, repair and modification on all of the GFS aircraft, components and systems. As you accumulate knowledge and experience, you may be promoted to the supervisory level and lead a team of aircraft technical officers to maintain and service the aircraft.
The gear between the wings represents the fundamental role that the Engineering Section plays in ensuring that the aircraft and helicopter fleet is maintained at their best serviceability at all times.

An Aircraft Technical Officer will be provided with training, both classroom lectures and practical on-the-job training, on general aircraft maintenance in relation to the GFS operations and aircraft type-specific training. There are also training opportunities for suitable technicians to obtain the Hong Kong Aircraft Maintenance Licence for their career advancement.
